Heathfield, Ballincollig

Starbucks, Opera Lane

Elmbury, Carrigtwohill

Heathfield is a significant, long-term development located in Ballincollig of Cork City. The development consists of various types of residential properties, including 2-bedroom townhouses and duplex apartments. The development has been underway for the past four years, and our company has been involved in the construction process. Upon completion, Heathfield will comprise over 300 houses, including a creche. The development promises to provide a diverse range of modern housing options to cater to the needs of various individuals and families in the area.

The Queen Anne Building in Cork is a historic building that has gained a reputation for its architectural significance in the area. Starbucks chose this building as the location for its Opera Lane café, which presented some challenges due to the building’s protected status. As a listed building, DTM had to work closely with the City Council to ensure that any renovations or alterations were sympathetic to the building’s historic nature. Our team had to be mindful of preserving the building’s original features while still creating the desired Starbucks look for the new café. It required a delicate balance between creating a modern café design and preserving the building’s heritage. DTM was committed to ensuring that the Starbucks could operate successfully in the Queen Anne Building while maintaining the building’s historical integrity.

Elmbury is a recently built private development situated in the eastern region of Cork City. It is similar in size to the Heathfield development, comprising a significant number of residential properties. DTM has played an important role in this development as a customer liaison, responsible for ensuring that individual customers are satisfied with their properties. Our team works closely with each customer, addressing their queries and concerns and ensuring that their expectations are met. Our customer liaison service enables us to provide a personalised approach to each customer, ensuring that they are happy with their property and the services provided. DTM’s commitment to customer satisfaction has been crucial to the success of the Elmbury development, creating a positive experience for each customer.

Kubo, Douglas

Soundstore

Bank of Ireland

Kubo is a Pan Asian restaurant based in Cork that draws inspiration from traditional Filipino culture and architecture. The restaurant’s name itself is derived from the word “Kubo,” which refers to a traditional Filipino dwelling. Kubo is considered a cultural heritage and a symbol of togetherness, embodying the warmth and hospitality of Filipino culture. If you look inside a typical nipa hut, which is the type of dwelling that Kubo is modelled after, you will notice that there are no partitions for separate rooms. This design allows for the entire family to gather together in one space, creating a sense of community and togetherness. In a nipa hut, the space is used for multiple purposes, including dining, sleeping, and living, promoting a simple and sustainable way of living. The design of Kubo reflects these values and seeks to create an authentic and welcoming atmosphere for diners to experience the unique culture of the Philippines.

DTM Electrical had the pleasure of collaborating with SoundStore, Cork’s leading home appliances franchise, on their new store located in Midleton Retail Park. Our team worked closely with Kellehers Electrical to provide a comprehensive lighting design that showcased and enhanced the various product ranges displayed throughout the store. Our lighting solutions were tailored to suit the unique requirements of each product range, creating an attractive and engaging shopping experience for customers. The lighting design was carefully crafted to complement the store’s overall aesthetic and branding, ensuring that the products were displayed in the best possible light. The collaboration between SoundStore and DTM Electrical highlights the importance of quality lighting design in retail spaces, providing a superior shopping experience for customers and contributing to the overall success of the store.

DTM Electrical was requested to create a proposal that would meet the requirements of a B.E.R assessment that was conducted on a building. Our team recommended a lighting solution that involved replacing the existing lighting fixtures in the offices and common areas with High Efficient Low U.G.R fittings. These fittings were carefully selected to meet the necessary energy efficiency requirements outlined in the B.E.R assessment. Additionally, the new lighting fixtures were designed to reduce the glare and provide optimal illumination levels, improving the visual comfort and productivity of the occupants. The outcome of our proposal was a significant improvement in the building’s energy efficiency, resulting in reduced energy costs and a positive impact on the environment. The collaboration between DTM Electrical and the building owner highlights the importance of sustainable lighting solutions and their contribution to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
